Guide to succeeding in the Bootcamp
Welcome to the Solana Developer Bootcamp! Our second bootcamp will be delivered in a mostly online format so you can learn at your own pace and convenience with smaller in-person aspects throughout the semester.
To start us off, here are some tips for succeeding in the course:
Come prepared: Before the bootcamp begins, make sure to familiarize yourself with the basics of blockchain technology and the Solana blockchain. This will help you hit the ground running when the bootcamp starts.
Practice, practice, practice: The best way to learn is by doing. Make sure to practice coding as much as possible during the bootcamp. Work on the exercises and projects provided by the instructors, and try to build your own dApps as well.
Ask questions: If you're unsure about something, don't be afraid to ask questions. The instructors are there to help you, and the more questions you ask, the better your understanding of the material will be.
Network: Take advantage of the opportunity to meet and interact with other developers in the bootcamp. Building connections in the blockchain community can be beneficial for your future career.
Stay organized: Keep track of your progress and make notes on what you've learned. This will help you review the material later on, and it will also be useful when building your own dApps.
Take advantage of the resources provided: The bootcamp will likely provide you with a wealth of resources, such as tutorials, documentation, and sample code. Make sure to take advantage of these resources, as they will be extremely helpful when building your own dApps.
Learn by doing: Building dApps on Solana blockchain is the best way to learn. Try to build as many dApps as possible during the bootcamp, and don't be afraid to experiment with different features and technologies.
Communicate with the community: The Solana developer community is quite active and can be a great resource for developers. Try to get involved in community discussions, and don’t be afraid to reach out to other developers for help or advice.
Continuously improve: Keep learning and experimenting even after the bootcamp is over. The blockchain technology is evolving rapidly and staying up to date with the latest developments is crucial to be successful as a Solana developer.
For the course, we will be using the IDE https://beta.solpg.io/. This is an online IDE provided to make it easier for you to build on Solana, but eel free to use any editor you like.
Finally, join the course Discord! This will help you communicate
